Lucy's Luscious Lemon Scones

1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking SODA
1 tsp baking POWDER
4 Tbs cold unsalted butter
1/3 cup heavy cream
1 egg yolk
zest of 2 lemons

optional glaze
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp heavy cream
2 tsp fresh lemon juice

preheat oven to 400
stir together flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.


cut butter into flour mixture

(dice small and work into butter- use fingers or 2 knifes. make pea sized pieces)

add the rest of ingredients and mix just until a dough forms. (do not over mix)

form 4 scones and brush the tops with cream

bake for 13 to 15 min
